Glyconutrients May Help You Give Up Smoking

Each year cigarette smoking is responsible for thirty percent of all deaths in the United States. This means nearly four hundred thousand deaths a year are caused by cigarette smoking. This far exceeds all the deaths attributed to car accidents, homicide, suicide, illegal drug use, and alcohol use combined.
In those diagnosed with lung cancer, smoking was found to be linked to eighty percent of cases and smoking responsible for one third of all cancer deaths. It causes a quarter of all fatal heart attacks and eighty-five percent of deaths after suffering from chronic obstructive heart disease are recognized as being linked directly to smoking tobacco.
None of us is safe from the effects of tobacco. Even if we don0t smoke, we can be inhaling passive smoke while in the presence of those who do. Passive smoking is considered equally as dangerous and causes twenty percent of all lung cancers in the US.
Smoking is becoming more common amongst older children and teenagers. A quarter of fifteen year olds are reported to be regular smokers. There is a higher rate amongst girls. Eventually, nutritional status may be affected because smoking adds to the free radical load in the body.
